Personally, I find that a bit garish. However, I'm not a fan of gold anyway, especially gold & silver together. Could you run it by the parents??

I think you should either go for something plain or something with silverf decoration that remains simple and isn't too ornate. I think this one is simple and pretty, but it may not be enough of a traditional cross for you.

A bit late to the show but another vote here for the place of blue boxes. If you look at the Paloma Picasso range, they are in the price range for the crucifix you posted.

Hey guys, can you give me some ideas please. It's her first birthday beginning of December and so many people will be buying her toys and clothes etc.

is there anything you can get which they keep for when they are older. If it was a boy something like a proper tankard.

Oooooh go in that shop in the Mall if you want one of them - Essentials, (downstairs opposite H and M) I got one of my best mates one from there, and they arent cheap but she loved it, and you can just buy them new charms whenever then.

You might find some charms that do have meanings, for example a car charm when she passes her driving test - ones for passing exams etc, and always just the odd one for birthdays and special occasions.

Me and my mum both have a charm bracelet made out of my great garndfather's watch chain. They are gorgeous. We have the odd '18', '21', etc charms and then things such as the car, and I have a greyhound which i bought after my dog died :/ I've also just got little random ones from various places and occasions.
