They'll still have the pre-qualifying sessions in which they could test it I guess.

Just started watching it now, 45 laps to go and wow what a huge dramatic change to the sport. The rules changes have had part of their desired impact with much more overtaking going on.

I believe they can do straight-line testing still, and of course quite a lot on the simulators. Still, it will make it harder (which can only be good news for Button).
Startled at the pace of the Red Bull though...imagine if that thing had a Brawn-style diffuser, it'd be unbeatable.

I honestly don't think the diffuser makes THAT much difference. It seems to have got blown up into 'omg diffuser = instant awesome speed' which I don't think is the case. Barrichello's got beaten into and so he says, pretty much completely broken and he didn't suddenly drop to the back.

The slower cars have much more fundamental issues than a diffuser design that need addressing to gain some speed.

Back to business as normal it seems. Hamilton has been excluded from the Australian GP - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/7978186.stm

One thing I always hated about F1 was never knowing if the results announced at the end of the race would stand and on this occasion we've seen Hamilton bumped up a place a few hours after a race then then a few days after he gets excluded.

The circus is back in town.

I think the eventual decision is probably the correct one (assuming McLaren did indeed lie to the stewards) but the punishment is over the top and the fact this is even happening at all on THURSDAY after the race is an absolute joke.

I should point out that at the time I posted the link all it said was that Hamilton had been excluded and more information would follow.

But yeah, if they did lie then the decision is correct.

Whatever occured, its still bloody ridiculous that the FIA can keep interfering to the extent they do, why even bother having a race?

Governing bodies in other sports dont interfere anywhere near as much.
