Likewise, it was good fun, Gary Oldman was excellent for the role, camping it up to just the right level.

The Jean Paul Gaultier designed costumes and aliens added to the look and feel perfectly.

Oh and.. mmmm.. Milla Jovovich *drool*

I thought he did it too camp - but then, I've always thought he has a tendency to overact a bit.

I agree on the "good fun" synopsis though - I don't think the film was ever meant to be taken seriously, just good mindless, uncomplicated entertainment.

Another vote for Demolition Man.

I also love Last Action Hero, despite it getting universally panned, and Judge Dredd. I wasn't ever a big comic fan so I don't have to forgive the allegedly gash realisation.

The excellent visuals are what make this film worth watching - that and Mila Jovovich. Actually, mostly Mila Jovovich - but the visuals are still good
Gary Oldman was sensational in that film - as he is in almost everything he's ever done. I LOVE Fifth Element, and it's definitely NOT a bad movie.
