Managed it, not quite the 5km in 30 minutes but I worked out work is 3.44 miles away, if I take the longer route to go through the park and castle instead of running past huge traffic jams.
Anyways, between walking and jogging as recommended made it in 34m52s, just under the 35 minute target. Did a 5 min walk then 2/2, 3/3, 5/5, 3/3, 2/2 jog/walk for the rest. Had to run (lurch) the last 50m to make it in time tho. |

Just got back from the Moors Valley 10K, with an unofficial time of 50:08. Quite chuffed!

He wasn't doing it, just helping me practice. I did it with a girl from work and her mate (oo-er!) - he got the exact same time as me because he was ahead in the last 50m and I sprinted to catch up, and she came in almost dead on the hour, so everyone was fairly pleased. My first medal too!

Will either go for another 10K or maybe attempt a 10 mile. If I do 10K I'll want to beat 50 mins though!

10 mile is a good distance. If you do that, you may as well do a half marathon. It is just 3.1 miles/5k further
Starting my marathon taper now and finished with the hardest of training. Have a half mara on Sunday and a 5 miler on the following Tuesday. Will probably use them as some speedwork to complement the long runs I have been doing. Starting to feel tired on a permanent basis now. Two days off running is the longest I have had off since turning an ankle. Watched my running partner get her first sub 40 10k on Sunday. Great experience! Watching the hard work coming to fruition is excellent stuff. Hope everybody is enjoying their training.
