Ouch 4 hours a day that is not worth it, rather live on less and have more time.

Same as most here, there's no way I'd be travelling 2 hours each way every day. But then we're all different I guess.

In real terms Desmo that's like you driving to mine in the morning, Working a Full day & then driving home at night & doing it five days a week an all.
You'd want some Serious money to make that worth while. |

Jesus Good Lord! 4hours commuting a day?! Surely Petrol costs/car wear and tear and wear and tear on you will substantially reduce the extra 5k down?!
It's not that I couldn't do it... I wouldn't do it. That's committing social suicide! And you will be knackered! I'm sure it's sustainable and maybe for a while it will be "fun" but surely you will get bored of it? If I was so keen on a position I would move and be nearer to it. Don't waste away your life on going to and fro for a business in order to make them rich! Don't dooooo itttt!! |

Why don't you rent a place where the Blacks job is with someone? I honestly can't understand why you'd commute 2 hours each way a day when you could simply move there.

Congrats on the offer sounds good, as others have said not sure I could manage 2 hours each way commute every day though.
Is that 2 hours car or train? What sort of distance is it actually? Me neither and I've got more than a few years on you

2 hours each way is a epic commute, how can that not wear you down eventually?
And for a "worse company to work for"? Quite, surely you've found Cotswold to be a far superior outdoor shop, how can you lower yourself to work at Blacks again? A while ago didn't you decide against applying for the police because you weren't that interested in the money? |

Good luck blighter but 4 hours a day, or put it another way, travelling nearly a full 24 hour day each week just to earn a bit more crust. No thanks

I used to do a one hour each way commute to work each day.
It killed me and made me resent every second I was in work. Never again. |

I used to commute 2.5hrs each way every day, initially it was awesome, reading, music, DS and sleeping. After a year it ground me into the dirt and I grew to hate it.
Relying on public transport didn't help, I think the record for the (at best) 2 hr 20 min journey was 5 hrs and 30 mins.
