Given the state of most of Sonys online software at launch, i think it's pretty much a given for anyone with a modicum of sanity to expect the worst. This is pretty much the only online service i can think of that Sony has launched and it's 'just worked'.

Nirvana were okay, nothing more. At least the Beatles wrote countless classics. The best thing to come out of Nirvana was Dave Grohl who is truly, immensely talented.

Tried the application today and it quickly turned from really disliking it to loving it.
Firstly, 3 minutes set up is TOO LONG. I wish Sony would learn. First you install, then you wait for it to load (this took just shy of 2 minutes), then you agree to T&C's (which requires you to scroll slowly to the bottom), then it reads more files (which I thought it had already done). My first impression was that the layout was rather poor, but after getting used to it I can totally understand why that presentation was used and it's actually rather good. Videos are high enough quality with very crisp audio, it doesn't lag, advertising is minimal and rather classy. Aside from it being slow to begin, which seems the norm on every single PS3 application I've ever used, it's bloomin' brilliant once you're inside it. I've already played Destination Calabria twice. I LOVE that tune. There are a few flaws though, firstly, it offers you playlists at the top, but you have to choose all the songs to get to the one you liked in the advertising, meaning you spend much longer removing songs from your playlist than you do adding them. You can search them individually, which I found out to my lack of patience wasn't quick, it took 90 seconds before the system became responsive as it decided to search all songs with an 'A' in it before I'd even asked it to search for 'A', not good. A simply option to choose from a sub-menu from those displayed on the homepage would be easier, as would a button to take you directly to the homepage once you're in the application. I'm sure I'll get used to the frustration of these things, but I would like them sorted. But very nice application. Last edited by NokkonWud; 15-06-2009 at 18:06. |

Just tried it out - excellent service and was surprised there were quite so many songs available. But agree with NW about the layout and navigation - searching individual songs was a pain (and why do you need to press the down button to scroll up?!) and it was quite slow. But still, like the idea and it's nice to have good quality vids on the tellyvision.

Having it auto search is great... if if doesn't lag, but it does, so you wait forever. Having the space after 'Z' and before the numbers is ridiculous as you start at 'A' everytime you add a new letter, only to have to scroll through 26 letters of 10 numbers to add a space, it should be automatically on space. There is a lot of changes that could be made, many of which I see as common sense, but hopefully they come quickly. What I forgot to mention was how impressive I am with the sheer number of videos, there are hundreds!! |

This is the best thing EVAH!
Created 110 song playlist now with songs I like. This will KILL MTV, The Box, TMF etc.. Firstly, it's free. Secondly, no advert breaks. Lastly, it's the music I want. This is the first time I honestly believe Sony have something that well and trully one-ups Microsoft. |
