Mac OS: Text Editor

Can anyone recommend a preferably free text editor for Mac OS for general text editing and the odd bit of coding?

Text Wrangler is pretty good though more often than not I'll drop to the command line and do stuff there.

I'm quite keen on Textmate.

What's wrong with TextEdit? Supports all the Apple things and my favourite is the Make Plain Text option.

Use it to write all my articles, then bin the formatting so I can paste straight to my browser.
