Skype
Installed this again the other day so I could chat to someone and now everything that even vaguely resembles a phone number is getting morphed into a bloody Skype link.
I can't see how to turn it off. http://www.bash.org/?29402 For example, on that page, the number mentioned comes up as a Skype link, so if I click it, Skype starting calling it.

If it's Firefox you can uninstall the extension iirc.
I know I had the same problem recently and can't remember doing anything more complicated than that Don't know about other browsers though sorry!

Yeah it is irritating. Needs a box you can untick during installation.

Never had that problem (longtime Skype user), but then if Skype asks me if I want to install any plugins, I always say no, and if it doesn't, I check it hasn't. If you've got the Skype toolbar or Skype Firefox extension, get rid.

It's always had an installation check box when I've installed it

Just started using Skype on my EEE, so far all my contacts except one are in the US! Dunno whether it's because of the Linux or whatever, but no problems here with it.
