Default What laptop for £600?

A friend of mine asked me last night what laptop was best for around £600.

I've just found what seems like a pretty unbeatable deal from dell;
http://configure.euro.dell.com/dells...dabf5b86d9bbdd

so can anyone beat that?

That looks rather nice, with one exception - if it's going to be used a fair amount while mobile, I'd recommend the bigger battery (though that does put it over budget).

no idea. I just found it on HUKD

I'll let him know that a bigger battery would be better... £630 after the 5% discount... maybe he'll stretch to that.

If it's just going to be left plugged in most of the time then a bigger battery doesn't make much difference.

I'd also get him to check the LCD as well. Personally a 15.6" LCD running at 1366x768 is painfully bad and I wouldn't think twice about the extra £70 to get 1920x1080.
