Default Paintballing

I'm off paintballing in the morning for my brother's 21st. There's about 20 of us going and most I believe haven't ever been before. Well excited, but unsure of what to expect.
We've got a place on the Wirral booked, near Heswall I believe. (anybody been? I'm just looking for directions, the ones we've been sent aren't on my email account!)

Whos been before? whats it like/do you have any tips etc...

Wear many layers - they can help absorb the impacts

ha, yeah, people keep going on about the impact of the balls, but i figure it can't be that bad compared with the tackles i take playing american football every week

'Tain't that bad, except if you're the stag (or the best man, pickers) at a stag do. It's very good fun, you'll probably need more paintballs than you think so if there's a deal go for it. Don't wear too much especially if it's warm - the heat will be more uncomfortable than the paintballs.

When they hit - short, sharp, very stinging pain but passes in a minute or so. Next day, deep muscle bruises - if you can get some deep freeze gel it may be useful for the morning after

You'll be fine - the impacts are like a hard flick with a slap-like-sting!

I used to go out for PB regularly with the rugby club, mostly as a summer-training exercise

What you do have to look out for are the cheeky beggars from your team who have taken home paintballs, left them in the freezer and now refer to them as "kill shots"

Paintballing is AMAZING!

I love it! Properly like! It is superb!

I would say be careful what clothes you wear - I was absolutely steaming hot within the hour from running about/crawling/sliding etc! Luckily for me I had layers on so when a round finished I whipped off my top down to my strappy top - much more comfortable!

I found the only paintball hits that properly hurt are ones to bare skin (so hands and unfortunately for me my booby - was crawling on the floor and the buttons on my overall came undone and as I sat up to take a shot was pummelled by about 5 people, taking one inside the overalls. Proper YOWOOowW moment!) I dunno though. Maybe I have a high threshold of pain... that and I was caught up in the moment being super commando

Oh only other tip is, if you run out of paintballs during a game your gun will still make a nice authentic *PAP PAP* noise when you fire it.... use this combined with running and crazy screaming and you might survive the round still

Take more money than you're expecting and lots of water to drinkies inbetween. You'll have a ball It's so so much fun!

You wimped out early, leaving me to take the pummelling of a lifetime thinking you were getting it just as bad!
