Blu-rays won't play but they did recently!
I've got Windows 7 x64, PowerDVD9 and Bourne trilogy on Blu-ray. I had watched the Bourne Supremacy in the last week (after W7 install) so I put Bourne Ultimatum in tonight to watch that. It didn't work. PowerDVD9 would "load" the disc but somewhere between 71 and 84% each time PowerDVD9 will just crash. I've no idea why. It seems to vary each time I try loading a Bourne film but it is between 71 and 84% roughly. I've restarted my PC but that didn't help.
I thought it was the Blu-ray bit of PowerDVD9 that was broken but I've worked out that Sin City and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Blu-ray versions) both playback so why do the Bourne trilogy Blu-rays not work? Any ideas? I was thinking of reinstalling PowerDVD9 but if Sin City and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang both play in Blu-ray format on PowerDVD9 is there any point? Or is there something about the Bourne discs that needs something special from PowerDVD9 which could have become borked and a reinstall could be a good thing? |

It's a strange one, that's why I've never been a fan of software DVD/Blu-Ray players, I have had problems with DVD's in the past. Have you tried the Blu-Rays in a PS3 or something? By some very slim chance it could be the discs, though I doubt it.
On another note, nice 1,234 post count . |

Long shot but some blu-rays required updates. Try updating powerdvd9 manually. It should do it automatically but worth a try. Also try cleaning the blu-ray. They seem to be more susceptible to dirt and scratches than dvds.

Merci! I've checked on the Cyberlink site and there's no update for PowerDVD9 Ultra that I can see. Also haven't found an obvious update button in PowerDVD9. I just don't see how two Blu-ray discs that DID play now DON'T play. |

I can't even get V9 running - just crashes imemdiately. Cyberlink are useless for support. Try WinDVD?

Is fixed. Removed then reinstalled PowerDVD. Applied patch when I was prompted to. Now watching Bourne Ultimatum.
