hehe! Cool! Kids bike seats have moved on so far, I remember the cheap plastic ones that dangled over the back wheel.

I don't think they are illegal, I think shops just believe they are dangerous. The benefits of balance being overruled by the ability of the child to disrupt the rider.

I think they are much better though, as you can tell the kid is still with you. When the unfortunate day comes, and I have a kid, I'm buying them a trike and 20 feet of rope.

Yeah, I've been asked to ride someone on a Tandem to their wedding, I'm borrowing it soon, along with a person to make the weight the same.

Are the tag-alone bikes the ones that fit to the rear seat post?

I'm impressed! You'd want to avoid puddles though, the kids would get soaked!

Make sure the seat on the trailer points backwards and mount a nerf machine gone on it. You can then make sure no-one overtakes you. Simple!

Aah, the good old Raleigh Activator!

I had one of those, the earlier version with front 'suspension' only and the frame made of old cast iron drainpipes! I know exactly what you mean about the weight

I totally agree with you about the additional weight and where it is - and being able to see the little one.
I was given a 'crossbar' many years ago - passenger sitting crosswise on crossbar, one hand holding lightly to the stem and the other resting on my lap. With legs out to one side and torso counterbalancing to the other you stay away from the riders knees and minimally affect their ability to steer and corner, I was impressed with how practical a solution it was (compared to the alternatives.)

If you need Nerf equipment, I can oblige. Have a couple of Nerf guns sitting here doing nowt (bought from a US Geek site when they were in fashion).

These are the kind of activities we all should put our kids through.

It'd cost a fortune in nerf darts though! Plus does a small child know not to target the police?
