Ubuntu 9.10 & Dell 6400 - Wireless not working
Done some reading around on Ubuntu forums but can't find any definitive answer. Installed 9.10 last night and it doesn't recognise the wireless card at all. I've installed the backports and still no joy.
Any other ideas before I dump it and go back to 8.04?

Sorry, missed out the obvious there
It's an Intel 3945. Not tried ndiswrapper yet but will look into it.

I use that card on my laptop and netbook and it's fine :/ No backports.
Is the module loaded (lsmod |grep iwl3945)? You running x64?

If what Daz has suggested turns up nothing, can you post the output of lspci -v as that will help too!

That's a yes, hHmm, I wonder if there's a software killswitch. Can we get dmesg |grep iwl3945 Des?
