Memory foam doesn't move in the same way, as it's designed not to move the whole mattress when you do. Unfortunately, that's going to be a problem when its trying to measure your movement.

I didn't even take the mattress in account when I bought the app. The idea of it just seemed cool at the time

Interesting stuff - I just wish I had a better way of waking up!
I used to have an laptop program that would require me to solve multiple maths queries and type in a long string of random characters before turning off it's ear splitting siren! This however would not make me particular popular with the sleep-loving-PG, and it would sure be nice to simply be able to awaken and get up on my own accord!

I remember reading that complicated alarms don't help and after a while you get fed up of them and will just circumvent them eventually (turning off the plug, smashing it to pieces etc)
Apparently, our senses pick up a sunrise, so having an increasing level of brightness in your room makes all the difference. It's recommended you sleep with your blinds or curtains open enough to let the morning sun do its work, or if you can't, use one of those lights that gradually get brighter before finally waking you up with an alarm. Some of these lamps are even confident enough to state that after a while you'll find yourself disabling the audible alarm as you'll be up and getting dressed before the buzzer goes off. The unnatural way most people wake is a dark room, loud buzzer, and a catapault into conciousness that's akin to a coma patient being woken after 10 years and instantly being asked to do a sudoku puzzle upside down.

When I'm not having sleep issues (I normally sleep REALLY well), I wake up naturally in the morning with dawn, even in winter I'm up before my alarm. Always feel refreshed and raring to go, I love mornings. I don't think an app will help anyway, as I'm startled by the alarm maybe a handful of times a year. I'm already like a puppy on heat in the morning, so I wonder if I'll be even bouncier with the app? God, can you imagine?!

i REALLY want a decent really bright (thinking SAD) light alarm with iPod dock and radio etc as well... Even better if i could also use it as a bedside light as well. Last time i checked i couldn't find anything less than hundreds of ££'s!? Gave up and bought a bargain iPhone DAB/FM Dual Alarm Radio Dock extravaganza which does everything (apart from wake me nicely ) for £20.
I do want a nice light-y wake-y alarm though, that would be an awesome way to wake up, and i do find if i leave my curtains ajar that does help me wake up in the morning, but not always at the right time! |

I saw a facebook group which summed up the situation "ALARM - Snooze - ALARM - Snooze - ALARM - Snooze - ALARM - Snooze - IT'S WHAT TIME?! ALREADY!?!" Does anybody have any experience of those Light alarm clocks that increase in intensity over time / recreate a sunrise etc?

App sounds good but my Touch doesn't make a noise so no alarm part for me which I imagine somewhat defeats the point!

Got one. Goes from blue to bright light so that when the alarm goes off, it's on full sunshine mode because I'm exactly the same re: light waking me up feeling good and refreshed. However strangely, the clock just doesn't work for me. I wake up as soon as the blue light starts to get whiter, and just turn it off (while still pretty much asleep!)
