Men Who Stare at Goats
Yet another film that seems to rely on a cast of superstars rather than actually being good. The story doesn't engage and frequently drags for no discernible reason. Acting is fine as you would expect from the cast but when it finished I was left wondering why I had just wasted 90 minutes of my life and not gone with my instinct after 20 mins and turned it off. 3/10 |

Another Q night at work last night...
The Core. Turned it off half way through, it was crap. Tripe 1/10 Harry Brown. Michael Caine as OAP vigilante who's had enough of the chavs and gangstas on his London estate. A gritty, British Gran Torino. Excellent. 9/10 Max Payne Having missed playing the games, I didn't know much of the backstory which I am led to beleive was ignored. Alright 5/10 No Country For Old Men Thought it was a bit slow and dragged in places. Javier Bardem was awesome as Chighur, despite the crappy haircut Loved Tommy Lee Jones as the laid back sherrif too. Bloody 8/10

Ponyo 7/10
I found it a little slow to begin with but once it gets going its fantastic just like My neighbour Totoro. A little boy finds a fish but it wasn't just any old fish it was a magical fish which licked his blood to heal his cut and the blood made her magic powerful and she turned into a human!! Its a love story of how the fish and the boys friendship grows!! Josh has already seen it before we went to see it at the cinema and he kept telling me to good bits were coming up!! |

I've just watched this, based on your score, and thoroughly agree. Loved it.

Hang Em High. Epic.
Kick A$$ is supposed to be good. A mate from school who I used to share movie time with recommended it.

Law Abiding Citizen
Others have mentioned it, so I won't go into any detail. 9/10. Awesome film, rather dark, and like others I found myself rooting for him. The extras on the rental DVD were quite interesting, a chat with a few legal experts covering the law behind it, explaining "Yes the system sucks, but here's why." One thing that got rather glossed over in the film was why the DNA evidence wasn't able to be used. Essentially the police investigating screwed up badly, and the comparative DNA was taken from Darby without permission or judges authorisation, they described it as the police grabbing you at the side of the street and forcing a sample from you. A great job by this relatively new director (one feature film under his belt, and a bunch of music videos)

Inglorious Basterds. 9/10 for me. Love Tarantino.
