removing points
Chaps,
Anybody had points removed from a photo license... do you have to send in a new photo with your D1, or do they use the one "on file" (assuming it hasn't expired, or is about to expire)? |

When I changed my address they used the one on file. Based on past 'scare stories' about the DVLA I'd be very tempted to "lose" it and then ask for a new one. I think I'll be doing that when I send mine off for a new photo in July.

Nah, no benefit from having them physically removed from the license unless you're likely to find yourself in a situation where you need to present your licence and a less than perfect driving history would count against you.

We're taking them off my wifes license as we are hiring a car in SA and they won't let you hire one if you have 6 points or more (apparently, according to some bumf we have seen anyway). We just thought it was worth the hassle of removing them to save the hassle of trying to explain that they have expired to some car rental desk jockey in Cape Town.
