Haha yes I think we went to Millets stand last year when a friends gas canister for her stove wasnt working and it turned out she had banged it and it was leaking!!!! They swiftly took it off us and we bought a new one!!!!! :s Let us know if you will be there!! We can pop by and buy a chair or something!!

I tried that via work (Action for Children have a stand there) but due to recent budget cuts they didn't get their butts in gear in time for todays resale and decide if they were going to do it yet. They said if they do decide to do it, I can volunteer and then sell my ticket back.

I will do!
If you see people walk around with the following on their t-shirts, you can thank me TENT ERECTION SPECIALIST and on the back it says "I can help you get it up".. but I can't take credit for that line!

One for me, (i'm not aware i'm sharing with anyone) that won't fall down or blow away. Oh and something I can find easily that everyone won't have, oh and it doesn't take a week and a GCSE in tents to put up

I'm sure this one will stand out from the crowds!
Basically you'll probably want a dome style tent (where the two poles cross over in the middle) for ease of putting up. For glasto, you'll probably want something cheap that you can just leave there afterwards (as it'll most likely get completely wrecked), and waterproofness... something with a 1500mm hydrostatic head or more will be fine If you are worried about drunkards peeing over it in the middle of the night, it might be an idea to go for a plain boring tent and put a flag on the top of it so it is still easily identifiable

You're not allowed to leave ur tents at glasto, its a green festival and massive on recycling and taking ur rubbish away with u!
It shouldn't get wrecked, so it depends on whether you want one to keep for a while! A lot of people go for pop up tents which you can literally throw in the air and they are up! Ours is a Vango one but we are looking for a new one thats bigger with a big porch thing! We'll keep an eye out for u!

Picked up one of the self erecting tents in Millets today for £20 down from £60. Closing down sales are cool (well for the customers), slightly confusing as some of the staff were wearing Blacks shirts, have Blacks bought Millets?
Now I just need to find out if it fits behind the seats in an Elise. Last edited by Del Lardo; 11-04-2010 at 18:43. |
