KATE WELL DONE !

What a bloody amazing achievement - cracking time too!!

I bet you're aching something awful today but I bet there's a smile and fantastic sense of pride coursing through you - you certainly deserve it!

Bonus points for attending a party the night before also! The girl is hardcore!

As for next year, I'd like to go again even if I don't know anybody running.
I concur! I remember when I was younger seeing it on TV and remembering 'boring!' but now that I am immersed in it (people I know running in it and the fact that they run past the bottom of my road) its a different story - sign of getting old! I just don't tend to be in London as it always falls on my birthday weekend!

Randomly I saw two people who I didn't know were doing it and only Kate out of the 4 I knew who were!

The good cat has now left - for a well deserved chilled out day

I loved it. I know from doing my tiny little 5k runs that the people shouting at me to carry on really, really makes a difference. Obviously there's a lot of survivors there, and just that second when they make eye contact and clap and some of them shout 'Thankyou', just makes it so much easier to keep going. I loved cheering on the people who looked ready to drop, I just kept shouting 'Come on [insert name] here', you're almost there' and to see them pick up and carry on was so cool.

One lad ran toward us with a Garston running club (in Liverpool) purple top on and pain all over his face. As he got up to me I got my best scouse accent out and shouted 'GO 'EAD LAD, DO US PROUD!!' & patted his shoulder. He beamed at me and picked himself up & carried on to the next little group of people a few metres further down who cheered him on & I remember thinking, it's that that will carry him to the end, just knowing that everyone is willing him on!

See, I've just welled up thinking about it again. Such an emotional experience, loved every minute of it! Thankyou Kate for making it happen.

PS: I also bumped into Greg Wise who most of you probably won't know (actor married to Emma Thompson) (we all walked past him under the tunnel on the way to Buck House) and he laughed at my teeshirt. Couldn't remember his name til we were travelling home.

Haha, glad your t-shirts were appreciated by other people too I think Kitten took a pic of mine & Matt's t-shirts together, so I'm sure she'll post them at some point.

You're absolutely right about shouting people's names. When I managed to catch the person's eye who shouted, it was just brilliant, even if I didn't have the energy to say thank you. How can you possibly give up with hundreds of people shouting your name? It was like a big Mexican wave of people shouting for me. I'm SO glad I had my name put on my vest now. People advised me to do it, but I never realised how uplifting it would be

I was a bit 'lump in throat' keeping up with Kates progress on the day, and waiting for the time. Watching it on tv was also really emotional. I'm getting soppier by the week!
