Soooooooo, it would cost me £380 to upgrade minus £240 rebate on my current handset making £140 and tying me in for another 18 months @ the 300 tarriff @ £35/ pcm which is the same as I pay at the moment, hmmmmmmmmm. Thats almost worth it.

O2 isn't looking half bad. Whats the deal with this simplicity tariff? It looks much better than the 18 month one. 12 month simplicity is £30/month and the phone is only £129. Seems ideal. Expecting a catch in that I have to rent out my penis to medical science for 5 years.

Edit: Ah i see. No phone on simplicity. Had to be a catch. 18 months, £35 / month and £279 up front. Wanna keep my 3G as a spare, just in case.

The 4G on £40 PM / 18 months seems tempting.

I've decided I'm going to buy the 16GB handset outright then go for the £15 a month Simplicity package. I spend £15 a month on credit anyway so it makes sense. There's no way I'd reach 300 minutes in a month anyway. Selling my 16GB 3G will make a nice subsidy. Any ideas what it would go for? It's pretty much pristine; a couple of minor superficial nicks but nothing most people would even notice.

Just to confirm, the 18/24 month tariffs on http://j.mp/iPhoneOnO2 are correct - the figures are not the wrong way around.
So nope. Is a bit odd though!

24m will be cheaper per month as they have you for a longer period - nothing odd about it? :S

You're on Boat Drinks, reading the signature your signature could be like.
I'm on a computer.

It does look a bit odd at first but if you work out the total cost in monthly terms the 24m one is cheaper despite the higher initial phone price.

24m works out to a total cost of almost £37 per month, where as the 18m is ~£42 per month.

In absolute terms the 18m is cheaper though, but obviously with 6 months less time.

Oh I know it works out better in the long run Worked out the figures earlier despite knowing I can't afford any of them

But typically aren't handsets usually cheaper the longer the contract length though? Not looked for anything other than a Sim only deal in a few years so maybe I'm just out the loop
