Being allowed to leave early for the football as long as we make the time up, requesting it from my manager, and being asked directly how I intend to make this time up.
How about only taking ten minutes for lunch every day since January. Good enough?

The fact that the entire employed population has ground to a halt because there's some sporting event on this afternoon.
I know two or three people who's workplace has closed, and ours allows flexible working and annual leave. I however am working overtime as there aren't anough members of staff here......

Same, ours allowed people to watch it in the canteen and make the time up outside of normal hours.
Meaning me, one of the people who doesn't care about football can't do any work because everyone he needs to contact to do his job is watching the football
