ALLARRRRRRRM!
Das Boot director's cut (1981) WW2 story following the crew of a German U Boat. Supposed to be quite realistic and the whole film is suspense and terror. You get really drawn into the characters and what's going on around them, the filth, the lack of air, fear, stink. I really wanted the full length film because there has been a shorter version doing the rounds. At 3 hours 19 minutes long I definitely got what I wanted and watched it in German with English subtitles. Loved every minute, despite its epic length.

Do like Thomas Newman as well, I don't have a favourite composer but he's right up there. Shawshank, American Beauty and Green Mile's scores are just three of his that I have.

The A-Team - loved it
Had a followable plot, it had me giggling, it had fights and explosions and flying tanks 9/10 The Expendable - Good but not great No real plot just lots of fights, guns, a few body parts, lots of fire and explosions. One hole/jump which bugged me Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! on plane flying in to hostile island, next minute on island and only have 20 minutes to get into the castle ... End Spoiler Alert! there were other minor ones but that was the biggest. Good no think fight movie but not much else 6.5/10 |

Iron Man
Was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. A lot of it was 'Really?' but then it was based on a Marvel comic. Story was a bit obvious tho. Also went through the deleted scenes & was glad it was all deleted a lot of unecessary rubbish in there. Didnt expect Gwyeth Paltrow to be in it & she wasnt actually that vacuos. & now we can watch the second one. Hurrah! 7/10 BB x |

Did that myself a few months ago. Definitely good the deleted scenes never made it through. It was a bit disappointing that the military display couldn't make it into the film but then it was a bit too long and pointless from a story perspective.

The Illusionist (L'illusionniste)
Just got back from seeing this and I loved it. It was beautiful, charming, funny and bitter-sweet at the same time. It is one of those films that I am sure some people will say 'lacks story', but for me it was full of such emotions and was about the relationships that it wasnt a factor. I would recommend it to anyone. 9/10 |

Memento.
Starring Mike off Neighbours, Joe Pants and Carrie Anne Moss It's about the 4th time I've watched it now and I've come up with a 4th idea of what's going on! Even after using the Easter Egg on the DVD when you can watch it "in order", I was still confused! 8/10
