Default Epic Beer

I don't know about you but I am a massive fan of beer. My time at uni educated me in the world of Belgian beer and after meeting a brewer with his own pub, I found out a whole lot more about English beer.

Anyway, I recently opened a bottle I've had for a while & wow - Epic would certainly be the word to describe it.

Said beer was a BrewDog Paradox Smokehead (10%)

I've had, and am indeed a fan of smokey stouts, but this one takes them to a whole new level. It was like drinking smoke!

I've also picked up some local Welsh stouts & a Welsh chilli beer, but I'm sure they wont quite match the taste sensation of the Paradox.

Anyone else found anything epic from the world of beer recently?

My dad is getting an assortment of beers from Brew Dog this christmas.

Wanted to get him some Sink the Bismark and Tactical Nuclear Penguin, but they're damn expensive.

Paradox and 5am Saint on the other hand were wonderful. It surprised me that I liked Paradox as I'm not a fan of smoky whiskies.

My local had paradox on cask a few weeks back, quite often get brewdog stuff in there.

I bought 5 of these http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article.php?id=310 and have 2 left on my shelf.

Absolutely delicious!

Currently brewing my own beer though, so easy to do and to be honest - tastes a lot better than some stuff I've had in pubs! and works out less than 30p a pint easily.

Got this from the local farm shop recently along with a few welsh stouts. Pretty impressive (alternative) taste!

I've not tried it yet (9.2% on a Sunday afternoon seems a bit wrong) but I've been told its amazing.

Next time you're at Tesco pick up some of this stuff, £1.99 a bottle. Tesco must be learning something commissioning Brew Dog to make them a finest beer!

*edit*
Okay, I've ended up opening one. Its brilliant. Really hoppy, fruity and just rather nice!
