I think I've officially become the Pancake Day Grinch - it only seems to have happened this year. All of a sudden I can't think of a more banal celebration than the cooking of eggs, milk and flour. Might as well be Fried Discs of Glue Day. I know it's not really a celebration and more a bit of fun, mainly for kids, but something about it this year has just really got my back up!

Powercuts! I nearly died walking to football yesterday because I couldn't see a bloody thing. Kept hoping more cars would come along so I could see where the pavements ended and a road began. Felt like i'd acheived something by the time I got to the game!

Strawberries, or to be more precise, their packaging

I have strawberries chopped up in my oats every morning so when Tescos decide to package them with a plastic lid I am happy as I use the lid as my chopping board

However, they also sometimes package it with a film lid. Which I cannot use as a chopping board. This makes me sad.
