Diamonds Are Forever

You may notice a bit of a theme here as I've had a bit of a Bondfest recently (one of the advantages of being unemployed) and I must say it's altered my perception of the films quite a bit so in no particular order (though it may end up be alphabetical) here we go.....

One of my least favourite Bond films growing up though that was before I realised the attraction of a feisty redhead and revisiting it I really enjoyed it. It's one of the later Connery films, the story isn't too OTT (well compared to the Moore films that followed) and it also has Mr Wint & Mr Kidd who are brilliant assassins.

For Your Eyes Only

One of my favorite Bond films growing up and it remains so, the plot is coherent enough that it doesn't feel like it's just there to join action sequences together and I love the chase in the 2CV. The finally is suitable tense with the climb up to St Cyril's with a number of other very good action sequences especially the ones underwater.

Goldeneye

It's easy for forget just how huge this film was when it was released in 1995 and also easy to forget just how good this film is given the other relatively weak Bond films that Pierce Brosnan stared in.

For a Bond film the plot is coherent and very well written and the action sequences add to the film rather than being the film, it really feels like a proper Bond film from the 60s but updated for the 90s (I nearly wrote modern day before I realised it was released more than half my lifetime ago but that probably reflects how well the film has aged)

IMO this is one of the best Bond films out there and well deserves.....

If I remember correctly she could do with catching a few stray pies as well.

Ha ha! OK another... adding to JSB's review of:

Transporter 3

Please please!! Somebody stop him making these films!!! The first one was good, the second ok, but this one... diabolical and not helped by the following...

Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read!

JS fishing, impossible stunt, pecs, annoying girl, pecs, impossible stunt, explosion, annoying girl, totally unecessary and cringeworthy 'love scene', pecs, explosion (repeat several times) JS fishing.

Frank would sooooooo not go for a broad like that?! OMG she was sooo ****ing annoying... I was |---| this close to walking out because of her!

Was glad it finished. Could have been about 30mins shorter with her scenes edited out.

T Bag from Prison Break was in it though and a good baddie.

I've told Rob to ditch the Fiat Coupe and get an Audi. The Fiat takes 2hrs to recover from damp, but the Audi took about 20mins to recover from full submersion in a lake. Superb!

End Spoiler Alert!

In a nutshell (lol) easy no brainer (certainly) explosion and man muscles (though he's getting a bit old now - baldy?!) film.

Just don't pay money to watch it

5/10 for the shiny car and the Inspector being funny.

You might want to delete that bit in brackets (the third one) before Will comes along

I thought Transporter I was utter bollocks (thanks to the awful, annoying female lead) and refused to watch any more of them!

That is geneally a feature of the Transporter films although Amber Valletta is in Transporter II and she's not hugely irritating or perhaps she's just pretty enough to forgive...

Salt

Pretty good, if phenomenally far-fetched. A few curve balls in there.
