Well done jmc. Know what you mean about it being in your head. Taken me a while to actually start enjoying my running once again without constantly worrying about my knee.
It's been a long road, but I'm finally recovering. Managed 9 miles last week. Furthest I've ran since Feb when my knee gave out. Feels brilliant, but I'm so slooooooow!

Yeah, it's hard to build up. Was a bit tight this morning but actually got home at a reasonable hour and want to go out for another, but know I mustn't push it too much yet :s
Going to give it another month and then make a decision on the cov half. Got a weekend away August 18th/19th so will see how walking 9-10 miles a day goes, assuming it's still okay by then. |

8.5k last night from Herne Hill station to home. I fancied the Crystal Palace bump but not the added distance from Clapham. Good to know the distance.

GRAAAAARRRRGH! Why the hell do they have to change trainers so much when they bring the new model out? The model "up" from my current one doesn't fit the same as the old one and it's smaller. What the hell are they thinking?

Another useless article from the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-18863293
"If you can find a shoe where you just enjoy that activity and you are comfortable, that's all you need." I wonder if he's being paid by physiotherapists. (Some of the stuff on the page may be correct but the last part there really hacks me off). |

Did you see Panorama? Very annoying. The bit about the drinks was expected, but the way they put forward the trainer argument was awful. Very one sided.
Banging on about barefoot running as if you can just throw your shoes in the bin and start running au naturelle. Really misleading I thought and people who saw that and decide to make the change might even be setting themselves up for injury. My osteo has specifically advised me to stick with my cushioned support shoes and not go changing my running style or shoes type as it's only likely to exacerbate my injury. Don't get me wrong, I think barefoot running is great if you have the gait and footstrike for it. However, I'm a heel/mid foot striker, so I need the cushioning. To go to barefoot running, I'd have to completely change my running style - something that's very difficult and potentially quite risky too. Dont know why I was shocked really. I've come to expect this kind of one sided nonsense from Panorama!

Yeah we watched that programme too. I bet the trainer companies aren't too happy about them promoting BFR!!!
