For purposes of shops it makes counting it a lot easier, especially when going through a note counter as the one at work is really, really fussy!

I always have my notes queen's head up in descending order, lowest at the front. Comes from separating the notes when I worked in Maccie D's!

Modern note counters don't care which way round notes are. ATM packing departments have no rules from the BoE or the FSA or and FIs about which way round the notes go. You'll never get notes coming out all the right way all the time - especially on multi denomination ATMs. Sorry chaps

I'm starting to think that maybe I'm the weirdo here for not caring which way round my notes are

Same here. Mine get stuffed in my wallet whichever way they happen to be facing at the time. I do try to keep them in order of denomination though.

Don't worry all, I am such a weirdo about my purse! Notes must go high at back to low at front, all facing forward, the right way up and also royal bank (RBS)> bank of scotland (BS)> clydesdale (CB)> bank of england(BE)....don't ask me why this order.

So for example notes in order would be back £20(RBS), £20(BS), £10(RBS), £5(CB), £5(BE) front.

Oh and receipts if in purse must be in a seperate pocket and not in with notes.

........I know!
