Default PS3 Launch Date released

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6295359.stm
So 23rd March.
And only the 60gb version available at launch not the cheaper 20gb version, a cynic's dream

I'll probably end up with a PS3 at some point in its lifespan, but certainly not at launch. Just no games that appeal to me yet so I'll be waiting for some RPGs to come out for it i.e FF13

£425? Fits in nicely with what I guessed it would be. Way too expensive for me to justify. I want a Wii first anyway, there won't be too many PS3 exclusives that I'll want, most cross-platform games will be as good or better on Xbox 360 I reckon, what with the 360's much better implementation of Live compared to Sony's equivalent.

As I know we're getting RE5 on the 360 I'm happy

Has anybody really seen what their latest online service is like? Not really read anything about it.

Though I dont expect it to better Xbox live on the 360. MS have really got that right.

Quite frankly I wish Sony would go and rot, given all the crap that's come out of them over the last few years. Not going to happen of course - the PS3 will succeed just on the basis of PS2 fanboys (I bet some of them are working out how many family members they have to sell right now).

The reaction of people waiting in line for a PS3 when someone came out and utterly destroyed one was just class. Pure class.

The fact I've not heard any Sony fanboys shouting about how great it is tells me everything I need to know

Its like over £500 to take the machine home with some games and an extra controller. Crazy money. XBLive is really well done. Add your friends and they work on any game. Much nicer than a friends list per game.

The obvious plus point it has before anything is lack of subs I suppose. Could be a case of you get for what you pay for of course.

Tbh, I'm more interested in their answer to Xbox live than anything else about the PS3. Which probably says more about the launch titles than it does about me :/
