oooof, surely they must be selling at a loss for that price?? The only thing I would be worried about is whether its just one hdd in there or two strapped together in raid 0.

As long as the internal drive wasn't Iquon, Hitachi or Excelstor it is a bargain.

Don't think iQon make disks - just the enclosures. Not had any trouble with mine, but if the enclosure does die, I'll just pop it open and transplant the disk into a caddy.

I think so.

As a choice, I'd avoid Hitachi, but at times like this, you don't get much choice.

Damn, no longer available - but I can tell you the drives inside are Seagates, because I have one here

Bought 2 of the Iomega 500gb external drives @ £99.99 (or close enough) the other day, they look pretty cool (silver with blue LED on the front) and seem to work perfectly, just trying my hardest to fill 'em up now!

FWIW thought Misco were very good, quick delivery and even sent a text to confirm the items had been dispatched.

Scan send me texts as well when they send out stuff. Only problem I've had with them is they keep delaying my orders for lame reasons (well, they did for the last two anyway).
