Chinese Whispers…

Some things really get blown out of all proportion, a woman I work with told me this story yesterday…

Her son, who is about 6, goes to primary school. The other day, a girl in his class bought a steak knife to school in her bag. She obviously wasn’t aware of the consequences, and didn’t use it for anything. It was swiftly confiscated, a quick phone call to her parents, bit of paperwork, job done. Another child went home and told his parents about it, a couple of days later, the story was on the front page of the local paper :/ A parent had gone ballistic thinking this girl had tried to stab other classmates, and obviously didn’t get all the facts. Why go to a bloody newspaper? You go to the school to sort the problem first, hey ho *shrugs*

Another, this was when I was at primary school. I came back from lunch at my mama’s house, when someone ran up to me and said, “Have you heard about Lindsey? She’s died!!!!” Well I was shocked to say the least, but turns out she had simply run towards a window, couldn’t stop herself, and put her hand through it. A slight cut, if that :/ (yes I am aware I've done something *that* stupid before, please don’t bother pointing that out )
