This afternoon, thanks to VirtualBox I be mostly..
Installing Windows 2008 Enterprise for testing purposes.
We're looking at building a web hosting environment based on it, one to at least last a couple of years, hooked up by iSCSI to a backend storage device so we need to do some testing first You can nab it from here here and install it for free. Sans licence code it'll run for 90 days before stopping. edit: Looks like that should be 60 days not 90 as I was informed. Oh well Success! Then the first hitch.. it didn't identify the network card Easily fix0red by switching to an emulation of an Intel network card (usually a safe bet) Adding roles to the server is much improved from the past, almost up to linux repository level (still wonder why MS haven't considered adding such functionality to servers, its a superb feature of most mainstream Linux distros.)
