Man's inhumanity to a child - NB - this is NOT nice
A 17-month-old boy who was recorded on the Child Protection Register under the categories of neglect and physical abuse died from multiple injuries, including a broken back, last August.
The child had been seen by a locum consultant paediatrician two days before it died. The paediatrician decided that she could not carry out a full systemic examination as he was "miserable and cranky". (Link) How on earth does this sort of thing still happen? Surely Social Services should be more proactive in taking "at risk" children into care?
