I just said *THE* most STOOPIDEST things ever. In the history of stupid things said.

I just rang a rather important Licensing company to enquire as to whether they received my designs etc.

Me: "Good afternoon, is it possible to speak to Liz?"
Receptionist: "Sure, hold on one second I'll put you through"

*ring ring... ring ring*

Liz: "Hello Liz speaking."
Me: "Hello Liz! ... You did say Liz didn't you?! I thought for a millisecond you said Phil!"

WHAT?!?! WHAT ON EARTH WAS MY MOUTH DOING!?!?!?! WHY DID IT SAY THAT!! How on EARTH does Phil... sound like Liz?!?!? And I KNEW I was speaking to Liz?!

Omg. Seriously I feel like such a twit. I just wanted to die. And normally I am ace on the telephone

Please tell me others out there have said equally divvy things to important people. Please.
