Default A strange request.. Hob spacers?

Right, in my new kitchen we have a gas hob, bloody brilliant!

it gets hotter instantly, and when I want to turn something down a little, it responds instantly and I don't have to wait 5 minutes to see whether I've turned it down enough (or too much).

However, even on the smallest ring on the lowest setting, it still boils/simmers stews and curries etc. too quickly!

I've been hunting around the net tonight for something to fix this issue and one thing I've been hoping to find but haven't found yet is some type of spacer to raise the pan maybe another cm above the ring.

Do these things exist? or am I going to have to get a new pan or something equally as annoying?

Thankyouplease

Sinc.
