Advice for a new TV

Im thinking of getting a new TV in the next couple of weeks. In the main this will be used for

Sky HD, PlayStation 3 and X360 in that order. I usually sit about 6ft-8ft away from the screen. My question is, will a 40" screen be too big ? Im kind of stuck where I can by it from so the best price may not be an option for me. However I have been looking at This Bad Boy. Is this likeley to be overkill for what I need or could I get a bigger bang for my buck with a different screen ?
