What graphics card is it? Use GPU-z to find out properly, there were a whole host of dodgy Nvidia graphics cards that could very well cause this problem (or BSOD's depends hwo they break). Its to do with the layers of PCB splitting from the copper tracing and solder. Ironically a short time in the over can fix it, and its what i'll be doing with my laptop when it all flares up. Its a very similar problem to the xbox fault...
