With one hand they're imposing caps on team spending, and with the other they're pushing up charges such that the likes of Silverstone can't afford to compete for a race (no doubt replaced by somewhere in the East that have no problem showering Bernie with gold). If the FIA is pocketing the proceeds when they should have rightfully been distributed to the teams then they clearly have serious problems irrespective of the cap.
In any event there's too much politics in F1, and Bernie's jovial 'ignorance' of the situation just broadcast on the BBC certainly doesn't help the situation. Fans seem to be coming down on both sides. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. |
