If you're that worried about it all, you probably shouldn't be using a mobile at all. Your provider has always logged which cell you're in and I'm sure they can get more accurate than just that.
If you use Google maps, Google get your GPS fix every time you use it - and so does your service provider. If you use TomTom (dunno if this applies to the iPhone version), then they get your GPS fix for the live traffic feature. Same goes for any other location-sensitive online app, mobile or otherwise. The problem I have with this is simple - if you're roaming, you don't want stuff phoning home unannounced. Hopefully the Pre has an option to disable this, much like the iPhone and Hero do. |
