I think I've officially become the Pancake Day Grinch - it only seems to have happened this year. All of a sudden I can't think of a more banal celebration than the cooking of eggs, milk and flour. Might as well be Fried Discs of Glue Day. I know it's not really a celebration and more a bit of fun, mainly for kids, but something about it this year has just really got my back up!

If Pancake Day had a spokes-mascot it would be DANA BARRETT'S ANIMATED SLIME-FILLED BATHTUB FROM GHOSTBUSTERS 2.
