Well it's official I'm screwed.

Haven't posted recently, but have been busy.

July 22nd did 18 miles in 2h39m, was happy and finally signed up for Cov HM (Oct 2nd). Managed a PB 49:26 for 10k and then went on vacation and proceeded to pick up a injury to the back of my left knee during a 9 miler in 26C heat on 8 hours jetlag in a week where I slept 12 hours in 3 days , and then took an 18 hour trip to Oregon.

This injury (left foot went off the path suddenly) wasn't really evident until a bit later and a very hilly (think worst parts of IOW) 5 miles in sub 42, a 6.35 mile walk up and down a mountain (2:04) and 8.1 mile 1h10 run on the same hilly island where the leg completely went.

Returned to the UK Monday and did a short 5k at an okay pace and then sat in an ice bath for 20 minutes. The weekend after did the 3 peaks, except our guide got lost (we got down from Scafell Pike at 3am) and various other things meant we only did 2 peaks, so then did Snowdon the w/end after and during all this the pain left the left leg and I got tendenitis in the right knee.

The docs solution of ibuprofen for 10 days allowed me to get in decent 9 miler (26/08 - except for some beast stinging me 45 mins in), and a interval run (29/08) which was great until the left knee went again, this time the outer side and partly the front, managed to just about finish though it was more staggering than running.

This same solution from the doc destroyed my stomach in about 7 days and I was forced to turn around and change an 11 mile run in 2.21 miles, and take a week off (except for driving to and from the lake district and walking 5-6 miles each day last weekend).

Tonights run? Minor pain before 2 miles, kept going and got dodgy around 6-7 miles and then went again. I ended up crashing into mile 8 and having to stop. Followed by a rather painful 3 mile walk home, in the dark.

The HM is in 3 weeks. In just over 59 hours I'm calling the doc again to see what he can recommend, the sports guy is meant to be back off holiday Monday.

The 1h40m HM was out the window weeks ago, the fact that I could have run it in under 2 hours half asleep went out tonight, I'm wondering if I can even run it now.
