SEGA has confirmed recent reports that it is lining up a sequel to Xbox 360 and PC title Condemned.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot will be released in early 2008 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the publisher said at an event in the US yesterday, with Monolith resuming its role as developer on the psychological first-person action thriller.

Players once again take on the role of Ethan Thomas - now a broken man trying to track down his missing partner - as they go on the hunt for serial killers following a string of gruesome murders.

In addition to the hand-to-hand combat and forensic crime scene investigation of the first game, players can expect an expanded combat system with potential for offensive and defensive combination moves.

Monolith is also planning online multiplayer deathmatch and possibly some other modes.

SEGA Europe's Gary Knight said that the first game's "subtle details, gripping story and eerie tension" would all be intact in the sequel.

"Condemned 2: Bloodshot takes these three key elements to heightened new levels, providing a superb mature gaming experience that will constantly surprise its players and keep them gripped from start to finish," he added.
I really enjoyed the first game though I'm still yet to get past level 3. I really need to dedicate a weekend to it so I can go through it and finish it, as it is very good from what I've played.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
