DS Lite?

I've received a voucher for a 50% reduction for a DS Lite - I got it through an online business account we have at work - should I get one? Are they worthwhile? I had a play on a friend's one recently and I have to say it brought me back to the gameboy days (just a bit more fun

) and I was quite impressed. Apparently it's a lot more versatile than being *just* a hand held console? Is that right? You can also be naughty and download games and store them on a card?

Anyway, I've got a few days to make up my mind, or I can just get credit on our account... It's a gadget, and I love gadgets, but will I use it and become addicted to it? Is it actually as good as my impression of it was very briefly? Or am I just craving gadgets?
