Default Laptop Dilema, warranty stuff, choices help!

Right next problem, recently i managed to get an RS-MMC card (mobile MMC whatever you want to call it!) stuck in my laptop when the adaptor broke off trying to get it out.

Phoned up dell, and my warranty ran out the day before, but they were willing to help. Turns out to "repiar" this i'd have to replcae the motherboard! So i asked the guy could i give it the beans with a knife and see what i can do with the premise that i'll still get it replaced if i botch it... yes was the anser.

They dude was really nice, first time ive ever done any dell warranty stuff, and i couldn't have had a better experience so far. He took my mobile number and he's rang me twice to check on things too its cool. But anyway i managed to get the card out, and it still reads MMC SD (same thing anyway right?) and the MS duo line of cards. But i've broken the xD connectors it appears all it wants to do is format a perfect working memory card...

I don't really ever use xD and i'm wondering is it worth chancing this and getting the whole mobo repaced (literally tomorrow on site how cool) just for this one little thing. This is my last chance.

That sounds great but the dilema is, i know this laptop is perfect now (apart from xD), if i get the motherboard replaced with a duff one then im totally screwed, because im out of warranty.

So BD what do i do :undecided: ... help i need to decided today before he rings me back (otherwise i will be totally honest with him and ask him what he thinks, he is a VERY nice chappy).

Danke!
