Utterly ******* dumb work policies

It recently became policy for all people working in "sales" to be given a Blackberry bearing in mind that 50% of these people never work outside the office.

I asked my boss if I could get one as I spend 70% of my time travelling outside the UK and spend ~£70/month on internet access just to collect e-mails many of which are time critical. Received an e-mail this morning from the powers that be stating that I do not need a Blackberry as I do not work in sales

Just how utterly dumb are these people?
