360 game refusing to let me update

Just stuck my rental copy of NBA 2k7 in, it took a very long time to load, put up an update screen which I said yes too, then it said the update failed. So I took the disc out, reset the cache and tried again. Now it just disconnects me from XBL and doesn't give me the option to update

I've tried restarting the 360 and deleting the cache again but no change.

Any ideas?
