That was an awesome game.. Dym seems to have forgotten I was there too
Such a drastically different England to the one we've seen so far this tournament, or indeed than we've seen in 4 years. Strong attacking, giving ground at times but always taking it back by force. They managed to put the Australians under such heavy pressure that they were making some really daft mistakes. The Aussie number 6 was doing particularly stupid things all throughout. Their inability to maintain a scrum was kinda frustrating, but it did help alter the pace of the game, and at times provided a critical few extra minutes sucked up of play. Initially I thought it was deliberate, but once the game got really progressing it was obvious they just lack the experience and strength to handle it. I wouldn't be surprised to see them losing out against other teams scrums. Both sides played some awesome rugby though, fast paced, very brutal, very heavy attack with nothing in the way of let-up between them. Superb stuff all round. Once the game got into its initial flow it was clear any win was liable to be by a small margin. I felt sorry for Mortlock at the end there when he had the opportunity to steal a win with that kick. To miss by such a small margin is probably going to be something he'll kick himself about for ages.
