The New Scientist started the jokey study of nominative determinism whereby peoples names determined their future careers.

I've not come across any until fairly recently, in the Thames Valley Police DVU (Domestic Violence Unit), we have a DC Beaton, one of the Armed Response crew is a PC Kille and one of the Burglary squad is about to become a DC Steele.
