Thumbs up A batch of new Kitchen Appliances

Last weekend, I went on the lookout for some new kitchen appliances.

We'd been without a toaster and a toastie maker for a while as the previous ones we purchased had both broken, which was hardly surprising as they were spur of the moment purchases when we were at Tesco and were part of the 'value' product range. A toaster for three quid and a toastie maker for a fiver were never going to last long but we kept the receipt and when we took them back, we were informed that they were no longer made and offered refunds!

Anyway, back to last weekend.

LMF and I were in Tesco purchasing some Heinz Soup (the Beef Broth is amazing) and decided to take a look and see if they had any better toasters as I was fed up slapping the grill on if I fancied some toast.

They didn't.

So we went to Comet.

What a range of kitchen appliances they have! If I had a fetish for such items then I'd have been in seventh heaven and no doubt would have embarrassed myself in public. Luckily I don't have any kind of electrical appliance fetish so all was well.

I bought a Breville PT15 Toaster.
  • Digital toasting status indicator
  • Extra long, variable width bread slots
  • Integral bun warming rack
  • High lift mechanism
  • Variable browning control and reheat facility
  • Frozen bread setting and mid-cycle cancel
  • Stainless steel finish
  • Removable crumb tray
  • Cord storage
  • Non slip feet
It's got a row of LEDs on it which count down until your toast is ready and then when they've all gone out, up pops the toast! It has a digital setup from 1 to 9 for adjusting brown-ness and it has a wicked lever on the left which pops a couple of metal struts up for warming croissants or buns. Fan-toasting-tastic.

We also needed a new toastie maker. I bought a Breville TR52
  • Clean hinge design
  • Pop-out removable plates for easy cleaning
  • Cut and seal system for large and small slices
  • Dishwasher safe and non-stick coated plates
  • Makes two rounds of deep filled toasties
  • Rapid heat up and high temperature makes golden brown sandwiches
  • Vertical storage and cord wrap to save on space
  • Brushed stainless steel finish
  • Power on and ready to cook indicators
  • Non slip feet for safety

And finally we needed a new George Foreman grill. Our old one had practically no non-stick left on it and was a bit old and knackered. I bought a George Foreman 12205 Next Grilleration Health Grill with removable plates.
  • A large 645 cm squared grilling surface
  • Features a new innovative grill design with removable, dishwasher safe plates
  • Oversized LED readouts for variable temperature control and timer
  • Improved heat distribution and contact grilling allows you to cut your cooking time in half
  • Cool touch ergonomic handles for easy removal and insertion of grill plates
  • Grill channels carry run off grease and fat into a separate tray
  • New George Tough dishwasher safe plate coating
  • It's a lean mean fat reducing grilling machine part of the Next Grilleration!

Mrs. Feek was very pleased with all of these items, specifically the fact that the toastie maker and the George Foreman grill have removable bits for either putting in the dishwasher or putting in a bowl of hot soapy water in the sink to clean.

So it's taken a week but I've now sampled items cooked in all three of these new appliances and I have to say that they're all great! I've had burgers and sausages from the grill, toast from the toaster and this evening I completed the set and had a cheese toastie from the toastie maker.

They all get thumbs up from the Feek family for ease of use, quality of cooked products and the ability to keep 'em clean.
