Another Tattoo Thread - THE DIARY
Decided to finally go and get my next tattoo. After speaking to Lynnie she suggested making a progress thread. So here it is. Will be taking pictures etc as things happen, as due to the design and size it will take a few sittings. Naomi is being my tattoo buddy
Armed with camera and energy drinks. My design is for wings on my back, here is a little picture to give you an idea. (There will be two) 13th Sep - Today I went to Tribe on the Royal Mile to speak to the artist and show him the design, they really liked it but asked if I could enlarge it slightly and lighten it so they can trace it to enlarge it further. Taking it back in tomorrow and will be going in next Thursday 20th between lectures for my first session. I'm excited! 14th Sep - Went in with the design, spoke to Barry who will be doing the tattoo. He is very nice and easy to talk to, feel very comfortable with him, which is good since I'll have to be a bit more naked than I would normally want to be with a stranger. Also he had lots of good ideas about how it will look. It is being started on Friday, will probably take 3/4 2 hour sittings. Friday will be the initial outlining. 21st Sep - Well my outline is done and it looks fabulous (well I would say that). Will get pictures up in a little while. Have to commend Barry for his work, he was friendly and we had a good laugh mainly about pirates. Again we chatted about what will be happening with the colouring and shading. Booked in next Friday to get that started. Now I’m enjoying the heat and Clingfilm. 28th Sep – I have my own central heating via my burny back but the shading is now done. Will get pictures up when I’ve taken them. 13th Oct - Two hours in the massage chair of doom and if I’m honest a bit deflated at how little there is to show for it. The colours look great and I’m really happy with how it is all going, just wish it could go a bit faster! 19th Oct - just an hour of colouring in. Have changed my mind about the colours in the top half of my wing so it is getting changed next time I’m in. Today I got the bottom half of one wing done, it is much darker purples and blues looks really good. 25th Oct - Second lower wing section finished, had started to get the top wing redone but only lasted about 3 mins before I had to tell him to stop! Ow! Have to wait until I get paid again for anything to happen. 2nd Nov - Nearly 2 months gone now, this week was the worst hour yet. Finally got the top section redone, I thought it was going to be a little less painful now, boy was I wrong. More good news is the shop owner loves it and wants a picture of them to go on the wall when they are finished, I felt really proud of that. (Lovely and gunky, shows just how fresh it was. Had just taken off the clingfilm and cleaned off most of the goo.) 13th Nov - Nearly finished another 2 hours today, hopefully will be finished before Davey's birthday but it is really coming together, am so pleased i got the colour changed. 22nd Nov - FINISHED! Was the most painful day, nearly had to call it a day half way though but it is done and i couldn't be more pleased. Hopefully won't be too manky at the weekend \o/ 2 hours and it couldn’t have gone slower! Can't believe how long this took and how much it ended up costing but I love it so much I couldn't care! £320 and 12 hours! |
