A couple of years ago I was ordered to make a valentines card and write a poem for Clare in it, and I've just found what I wrote...

I love you when the day breaks,
Till when the sun goes down.
You are such good company,
And fun to be around.

So there is my love poem,
To put into your card.
I had a go – as best I could
But found it very hard.

Sincerity in rhyming verse,
Is difficult to achieve.
And keeping meter’s impossible -
When my heart skips a beat thinking of you.

Just believe me when I tell you,
All through the year it’s true.
I love that you love me
And I undeniably love you.
