The bumpers are a big steel bar with foam outside them and then the decorative outer skin.

The back bumper is definately being gutted at some point, plan is to ditch the foam plus as much of the steel as I can whilst still being able to bolt it to the car leaving just the outer skin in place. If I go into anything backwards there's still an engine and 3 bulkheads between me and the outside world so it should be safe enough.
